Who Cares What You Say Anyway?
Talk is cheap. People make promises, give speeches, and post quotes—but your words are just the advertisement. Your actions are the receipt.

Let’s be honest for a minute.

Who cares what you say anyway?

Because these days, talk is cheap. Really cheap. You can say just about anything you want. You can make promises, give speeches, post inspirational quotes, tell everyone how much you care, and convince people that you're going to change the world.

But then what?

Nothing.

And that's the problem.

"I would argue that 99% of what comes out of people's mouths is bullshit. Maybe that's a little harsh, but look around. Everybody has something to say, but when it comes time to actually do something? Suddenly, everybody disappears."

Don't tell me you're going to fix something. Fix it.

Don't tell me you care. Show me.

Don't tell me you're going to help. Help.

Don't sell me some beautiful story about how you're going to make things better and then sit on your ass waiting for somebody else to do the work.

I'm not interested in your promises.

I'm interested in your actions.

Words are easy. Anybody can talk. Actions are different. Actions require effort. They require commitment. They require getting off your ass and actually doing something when nobody is watching.

That's where you find out who people really are.

  • You can tell me you're a good person all day long. But if your actions constantly prove otherwise, why should I believe you?
  • You can tell me you're loyal. But when things get difficult, where are you?
  • You can tell me you're dependable. But when I actually need you, do you show up?
  • You can tell me you support something. But what have you actually done to support it?

That's the difference between talking about something and actually giving a damn about it.

I've reached a point in life where I don't need a sales pitch. I don't need a motivational speech. I don't need another person telling me what they intend to do.

Show me.

If you believe in something, prove it. If you care about someone, show them. If you want something changed, get involved. If you say you're going to do something, then do the damn thing.

Because at the end of the day, people aren't going to remember every word you said. They're going to remember what you did.

"Your actions are the receipt. Your words are just the advertisement. And I've learned that I don't need to buy the product just because the commercial sounds good."

So go ahead. Tell me what you're going to do. Make your promises. Give me your big speech. I'll listen.

But I'm probably not going to believe you until I see you actually do something.

Because talk tells me what you want me to believe.

Your actions tell me who you really are.
