A New Perspective How Ray Ban Meta Glasses Are Helping Me See What’s to My Right
How Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses provided by the Blind Veterans Association (BVA) are helping bridge vision loss and restore independence.

Being a veteran and living with blindness in my right eye has changed the way I experience the world.

For a long time, I have had to be much more aware of what is happening around me, especially on my right side. Something as simple as walking through a crowded area, navigating an unfamiliar place, or knowing what is beside me can take more concentration than most people realize.

Recently, I was given an incredible gift that is already making a difference in my daily life: Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 smart glasses, provided to me through the Blind Veterans Association (BVA).

"Technology like this isn't going to replace my vision, and I don't expect it to. But it can help bridge some of the gaps created by losing vision in one eye."

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank BVA.org for making these glasses available to me. I also want to thank Meta for creating technology that can provide meaningful assistance to people like me.

These aren't simply a pair of smart glasses to me. They are becoming another tool that helps me interact with the world around me.

Bridging the Gap and Navigating the World

One of the things I appreciate most is the ability to ask the glasses about what is around me. Because I am blind in my right eye, knowing what is on my right side can sometimes be difficult. The glasses can help describe things that I may not otherwise notice, giving me another way to understand my surroundings.

They can also assist me with navigation and getting from Point A to Point B. Having that additional information available while I'm moving through the world can provide a greater sense of independence and confidence.

For me, that's what makes this technology so meaningful.

I am extremely grateful to the Blind Veterans Association for thinking about veterans like me and for giving me the opportunity to experience this technology. I am equally thankful to Meta for continuing to develop technology that can potentially make everyday life easier and more accessible for people with disabilities.

I am still learning everything these glasses can do, and I look forward to discovering new ways they can help me in my everyday life.

Thank you, BVA, for giving me a new perspective. And thank you, Meta, for creating the technology that makes it possible.

Sometimes, having a little more information about the world around you can make a very big difference.
